First there is painting, where hand movements repeat patterns without tiring, learning the insistence and patience that leads to the emergence of the right shape. A taste for prints, mouldings, lead or plaster, underline at the same time the attraction for an image that is ‘revealed’.
Close behind comes engraving, marvellous subconscious which shows the artist her desire made image.
The work which develops pursues process more than form: the image is a living thing cut into the plate, which we watch being born in the press. Appearance of disappearance, barely arrived, not yet gone, placed on the surface of the paper as much as it is suspended in the infinite space of the blank sheet.
